
The pre–Broadway world premiere Big Fish opens tonight at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre (24 W. Randolph). The production’s limited five–week engagement is playing through Sunday, May 5 and is based off of the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Pictures film directed by Tim Burton. Taking place in the American South, the plot centers on Edward Bloom, whose son is frustrated by his tall tales. As Edward gets closer to death, his son begins searching for the answers to find out who his father really is and to separate the truth from the exaggerations. The musical boasts a large, award–winning cast and creative team, including five–time Tony Award® winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman and two–time Tony Award® winner Norbert Leo Butz.
