Mixing the elegance of fashion with flowers, the 2012 Chicago Flower & Garden Show celebrates “Hort Couture,” transforming Navy Pier into a gardener’s runway from March 10-18.
Drawing inspiration from colors and textures found in plants and fabrics, this year’s 25-plus, well-appointed display gardens feature an eye-candy array of florals and plants, containers, horticultural and greening displays and stylized gardens created and designed by acclaimed landscapers and horticultural professionals. Let your imagination run wild with hands–on workshops, potting parties, seed swaps, illustrated talks, cooking demonstrations and celebrity appearances.
“This ‘spring collection’ will inject a new sense of fun and style into the show. As with fashion, though, the classics that stand the test of time are celebrated, too,” says Tony Abruscato, president of Flower Show Productions and director of the Chicago Flower & Garden Show.
The show hours are Mon-Sat 10am-8pm. Sun 10am-6pm. Adults $15 (online) -$17 (box office), children (ages 4-12) $5. For more information, visit www.chicagoflower.com.
