
Stepping into Untitled (111 W. Kinzie) is similar to being taken back to the roaring twenties. When entering this speakeasy, one steps through a door next a drugstore and descends a staircase entering a posh, elegant atmosphere.
The ambiance is trendy. Live jazz and big band music plays in the background while patrons sit around several large tables sipping cocktails. (Sadly, F. Scott Fitzgerald was not one of them.)
The cocktail menu has the perfect balance of lighter and heavier drinks. Don Patricio's Pinkie Ring and Speak Sleazy are two winners for lighter cocktails. Scotch and bourbon drinkers will like Pistol Smoke and Bootlegger's Breakfast and will revel in the large selection of aged scotches and bourbons available.
The dinner menu has a variety of small plates and large plates meant for sharing. The Snow Crab Claws are amazing. The flakey white meat melts in one's mouth and is served in a light garlic sauce. The Bay Scallops tasted so fresh, one might think they were caught that day in Lake Michigan.
